About Us

TransCool has run a prep school in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, since 2007. Today, besides the school, we produce video lessons, develop explanation videos and learning content that match textbooks, and operate a video-lesson platform.

Everything we do started in the classroom. We have taught more than 4,000 students, from elementary to high school. Our instructors watched each of them closely to learn where students get stuck and in what order an explanation gets through. All of our current businesses grew out of that work.

We have produced more than 6,000 video lessons. The people who design them are instructors who still teach in front of students. For the same reason, we build our own systems for the work behind teaching: learning-support AI, a learning management system and automated grading. We can take a project from lesson design all the way to the tools that keep students studying, and that is what sets us apart.

Through Canalis, our own service, companies offer video lessons to their employees as a benefit. It reaches families with no cram school nearby and families for whom monthly tuition is a heavy burden. We keep looking for a model that students can stick with and that makes sense for the companies and organizations that adopt it.

Teaching in the classroom, and making videos and systems: we will keep both in-house, and keep working to bring better learning to more people.
