TransCool Prep School has taught children in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, since it opened in April 2007. More than 4,000 students, from elementary to high school, have studied with us.
As more students struggled to fit cram-school hours around club activities and lessons, we added video lessons and online tutoring early on, so students can keep studying without coming in more often.
Our instructors still teach in the classroom every week. That is how we know, as users, what a textbook, a video or a system needs to do. Our video production, system development and platform business all rely on this school for their quality.
Junior high school
Video lesson course
A flat-rate online course designed to fit around club activities and other commitments. Students combine selected textbooks with video lessons recorded by experienced TransCool instructors, and study whenever and wherever suits them. Our staff check each student’s progress daily, adjust the study plan and help them stay motivated. An online study room opens three times a week, and regular one-on-one meetings support students until they pass their entrance exams.
Online tutoring course
An advanced English and mathematics course for junior high school students aiming for Tomakomai Higashi High School, National Institute of Technology, Tomakomai College, or schools outside the local district. Our live-lesson tool LiveBoard connects the instructor’s and the student’s iPads, so anything either of them writes appears on the other’s screen.
High school
Group lesson course
Full-time instructors with many years of high school teaching experience give live lessons, centered on English and mathematics. The curriculum targets Hokkaido University, other national and public universities, and selective private universities. Students can use the study room free of charge and book one-on-one study consultations.
One-on-one course
Every lesson is one instructor with one student. We never teach several students at once, so the whole lesson goes to that student. Lessons cover everything from the basics to the second-stage exams of national universities, aimed at Hokkaido University, other national and public universities, and selective private universities.
Online tutoring course
The same lessons as the one-on-one course, taken from home. LiveBoard, an online teaching tool developed by our group company, links the instructor’s and the student’s screens in real time, so it feels like sitting across the desk from the teacher. Students who cannot travel to the school still get one-on-one teaching.
